It’s been very noticeable how the daily tally of Home Security Surveys conducted on this site has increased over the past few weeks. My regular visitors will know that I’m often promoting the free service, because there’s never a time like the present to expose what you think might be a properly secure home to a little independent checking.
Looking at the results I can see that people are very often over-estimating the level of their home security - by about 20%, as it happens. This is a significant discrepancy and one that needs attention.
The survey takes about 20 minutes to do properly and then once you get sent your report I expect a lot of you will then start reading the references cited in the report to prepare your action plan. You can read as much or as little as you like, of course, but by the end of the process you’ll become pretty conversant with what you’ll need to do.
Apart from being free, you also need to know that your email address (used to send you back the report) is never, ever used again for any other purpose – ever!
So, if you’re one of my many thousands of visitors that have thought about doing the survey, but have been putting it off to a rainy, then today is a rainy day!
