It seems almost daft to point out that British Summer Time ends on Sunday 26th October. It seems daft because this irritating clock change happens in the autumn and not in the summer. It also means that the streets are darker earlier with all those added risks of accident and crime.
So why the early notice?
If, like me, you have a number of outside lights, now is a good time to check they’re all cleaned up and working ready for the winter. You might also want to think about getting some timers to bring lights on around the dwelling when you’re not there to switch them on yourself.
There’s lots of advice here: http://thecrimepreventionwebsite.com/gardens-lighting-access-and-alarms/495/security-lighting/
