The Crime Prevention Website

I’ve just got back to the office after our regular two-and-a-half week trip to Northern Cyprus.  Our oldest friends have been living out there for the past fourteen years and I think we’ve just chalked up our twelfth visit.  Compared to the south of the island the north is extremely good value with restaurant prices and grocery about half the price, so I’m glad my friends live in the north!

Since I’ve been away just over a hundred people have carried out a home security survey on their dwelling; presumably getting themselves ready for the earlier darker nights when there’s always a peak in burglary.

16,000 individual people visited the website and looked at 26,000 pages between them.  That’s pretty good for the time of year and now I can see that visitor numbers are beginning to climb as they always do in early autumn.

Thank you to all of you who have shared the series of twenty autumn home security tips, which were published on each day I was away and to all of you who have emailed me during my absence, the replies to which I am just about to make.

Autumn is a busy time for home security and if you need some independent advice from a retired police crime prevention officer do please browse the pages on this site.

A good place to start is here: How to start securing your home

Incidentally, I’m putting together some quite detailed crime prevention advice for horse stables at the moment and so if you’re reading this and own or use a stables and live around West London do please get in touch with me as I’m trying to visit as many stables as I can to really get to grips with the problems you face.  Thank you
