The Crime Prevention Website

On 7th April this year Ben and I will be celebrating The Crime Prevention Website’s fifth birthday. In that time annual visitor numbers have grown from 50K to something like 560K. The site’s also more than doubled in size and I’ve got plans to double its size again.

To make the site work better for you and to cope with its future expansion Ben has just completed a large piece of work to move the website onto a new hosting company’s server. This will mean much improved speed and hardly any downtime. Some of you may have noticed that occasionally our site wasn’t available; a problem caused by the previous hosting company, not us.

In addition to that you’ll now see the green padlock and the word ‘Secure’ appearing on the address bar and https:// in front of the domain name. This tells you that the traffic between you and our website is now encrypted, improving overall security.

So, our website is now future proofed and certified secure, just the sort of measures you would expect from a website that promotes crime prevention!
