Hi Folks
I’m pleased to report that the number of Home Security Surveys conducted using the application on this website has gone past 6,000! (6010 as of today) There’s also been an unexpected rise in ‘Likes’ on my Facebook page, which now numbers 600+ Not many, I know, but it’s important to have a presence there as people can find the main website from my Facebook page.
I’ve been putting the garden away for the winter today. A bit later than normal due to the fact that I’ve hardly been at home for the past couple of months. While I’ve been doing this boring, but necessary task it occurred to me that I hadn’t checked my outside lights to see if they were working properly. It turns out that one lamp had blown and another was covered in spider’s webs and leaves to the point that it wasn’t really throwing out the level of light that it was intended to do, so here’s a few things to check if you’re doing the same as me:
- Check outside lights are working and give them a good clean
- Make sure ALL garden tools are put away in a properly secured shed or outbuilding
- If you haven’t done so already do prune back hedges that have grown too tall and are now masking the front of your house (cover for burglars)
- If you’re having doubts about the level of security for your shed now is the time to do something about it, before the weather gets too bad
- If you are starting to think about improving the general security of your home (maybe planning for the Spring DIY jobs) do carry out a self-survey using the Home Security Survey application on this website. It’s free and confidential and your email address (if you supply it to our system) is NEVER used for any other purpose – ever!
Enjoy!
