I came across this snippet somewhere on the internet this week about satisfaction with the police and thought you might like to see it.
Here are the results of a recent IPSOS MORI survey (requested by HMIC) looking at the public’s level of satisfaction with the police. Other people/organisations have been included for a sneaky comparison.
Satisfaction in:
- Jeremy Corbyn 25%
- The Government 41%
- Theresa May 54%
- The Police 76%
That seems pretty good for the police
And just for the record (and because I like to be a little mischievous) the feedback for this website’s Home Security Survey has a satisfaction rate of 98%!
Of the members of the public who have completed our Home Security Survey and had received crime prevention advice from the police in the last four years 74% of them reckoned that the advice given to them by the police was satisfactory. This reasonable satisfaction rate is rather tempered by the fact that 52% of respondents didn’t know that the police even offered crime prevention advice; and they wouldn’t be wrong. Many police services no longer employ professional crime prevention staff to advise the public or have severely cut back.
And who tells the truth? The latest information about this also came from an annual IPSOS MORI survey from 2015 and such is my interest in the many publically available reports I thoroughly recommend you visit their website for lots of even more useful findings!
Doctors are currently rated as most truthful with 89% of respondents saying so and the police are not too far behind at 70%. I reckon if you’re below the 50% mark then you’ve got a problem
- 89% Doctor
- 86% Teacher
- 80% Judges
- 79% Scientists
- 69% Hairdressers
- 68% Police
- 68% Man/woman in the street
- 67% Clergymen/women
- 65% TV News readers
- 59% Civil servants
- 51% Lawyers
The following professions have a distinct image problem with the public, but are they likely to do anything about it?.
- 49% NHS managers
- 47% Charity Chief Execs
- 46% Union officials
- 43% Councillors
- 42% Builders
- 37% Local government managers
- 37% Bankers
- 35% Business leaders
- 25% Journalists
- 25% Estate agents
- 22% Government ministers
- 21% Politicians
