The Crime Prevention Website

It’s that time of year when many of you will be packing your bags for that well-earned holiday.

This packing lark is often started a week or more earlier to ensure that everything is remembered and then we sometimes forget what we did and did not pack and have to go searching for it, untidying the suitcase as a result. This is why I always use a holiday packing list, which I print off from the internet (there’s plenty of them), so I can tick things off as they go into the case. But enough about my domestic routine, because I’m wanting you to think about your home security and what you’re going to leave behind and also to take a few moments to think about the time you will be abroad and what you can do to keep yourself and your family safe.

To help you this website has several useful pages for you to print out and keep with all your other travel documents and for your convenience I’ve listed them below.

Holiday Security Checklist This is a useful guide to help you remember all the things you need to do to keep your home secure before you embark on your holiday

Safer travel abroad This is essentially a guide to help you plan your trip, use the airports, check the security at your hotel and safely enjoy your nights and days out.

And here’s some other pages you might want to check out at the same time.

Safer travel on public transport

Safer travel in taxis and cabs

Safer driving (personal security)

Have a great holiday this summer.
