I recently received an email from a lady who asked me if I could recommend a locksmith to her (I get this type of email about once a month).
I wrote back and advised her to go to the ‘Find a Locksmith’ page on the website of the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA). The MLA is, as far as I know, the only recognised Trade Association for locksmiths, which operates under bylaws with strict membership criteria.
The MLA operates a licensing scheme for MLA Approved Companies that appear on their website and to gain this approval they will have met three criteria. The companies will have been vetted (The MLA are authorised to carry out standard level CRB checks); the companies are regularly inspected and each company must employ a qualified locksmith, i.e. a person who has passed an exam based proof of competence.
A Google search will find other locksmith organisations, but the MLA is the only one promoted by the Crime Prevention Website, which is why the MLA logo appears at the foot of our website pages. I might also add that the MLA site also links to us.
So, if you need an expert locksmith please follow the link below.
