The Crime Prevention Website

I’m not sure how many of you will see this message, but I’m after some information from my police followers.

I’m trying to establish how often police officers and PCSOs are recommending my website to the public. I know it’s happening a lot, but it’s difficult to gauge how widespread the recommending might be.

It goes without saying that members of the sixteen police services that are linking to my website must be telling the public, but it’s difficult to know to what extent. I also know that police officers/PCSOs in police areas where I have no linkage are recommending the site, because I get messages from the public telling me so. West Mercia, Manchester and South Wales are the three most recent examples of where this has happened.

Interestingly, I get so few messages from Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Wiltshire that I suspect there’s probably a campaign running not to use my website! I’m only joking, of course, but the almost complete lack of any communication with those counties is very strange indeed.

I can tell roughly where my website is reaching by analysing the number of home security surveys completed so far this quarter. See how the southwest is mostly absent from the table of completed surveys.....

  • Lancashire 48
  • West Midlands 15
  • London 13
  • South Yorkshire 13

Bottom of table

  • Dorset 3
  • Wiltshire 1
  • Devon 0
  • Cornwall 0

If you can shed some light on it I would very much like to hear from you (in confidence). Please email me on calvin@thecrimepreventionwebsite.com

Thank you

Calvin
