I am delighted to inform you that The Crime Prevention Website is being linked to from Break-in Britain’s website page
I just watched the first two episodes of series two ‘The Crackdown’ and was very impressed.
Each program visits two burglary locations shortly after the offences have been committed where the victims are interviewed to understand the effects that this dreadful crime has had upon them. Then there’s some coverage of the police investigation, but what makes this program stand out is the security assessment that follows. The homes are visited by the local police crime reduction officer who scores the security out of ten. The home is then secured and scored again.
I like this program’s approach, because it emphasises how burglars take advantage of poor home security. The almost immediate improvement in security also satisfies the need to make those improvements quickly to avoid the possibility of becoming a repeat victim; something we should all be aware of.
If you’ve been watching this program and haven’t yet carried out our online home security assessment then perhaps now is the time to do it. All of the aspects picked up by the crime reduction officers are covered in our DIY survey and you’ll be sent a free security report and risk assessment score, so you can make those important improvements.
I shall be looking out for episode three.
It’s great to have a link from the BBC – Stardom at last!
