The Crime Prevention Website

I got a pleasant surprise over the weekend when I discovered that Elmbridge Neighbourhood Watch had added TCPW to their ‘Useful Links’ page. I have, of course, linked back to them from my Partners Page.

I can see that their website is under construction at the moment, but this should not stop those of you living in Elmbridge from getting in touch with them using their contact page.  I’ve no doubt the Watch will welcome your contact, especially if you’re willing to help out a little!

On one of the few pages yet completed I found the following, which sort of sums up Neighbourhood Watch in a nutshell and is worth repeating here:

Neighbourhood Watch is the largest voluntary community scheme in the country with over 10 million members. It’s made up and led by the community working in partnership with the police.

The scheme provides the following benefits to members:

  • Reduced crime and fear of crime
  • A closer community where neighbours look out for one another
  • Reassurance and support, especially for the vulnerable
  • Improved awareness of crime prevention measures
  • Improved information on local crime trends and patterns
  • Opportunity for home insurance discounts

So, there we are, another Neighbourhood Watch getting ready to help and waiting for you to get in touch. I shall revisit their website from time to time to see how they’re getting on
