I was really pleased to see this article from Hillingdon police yesterday (West London)........
A series of raids across Hillingdon to help end the suffering caused by domestic abusers has resulted in four arrests.
Officers from Hillingdon carried out a day of action on Tuesday 2 December, to target and disrupt domestic abuse perpetrators and repeat offenders.
The day's activities resulted in four people being arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm, Actual Bodily Harm and Harassment. All have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Search warrants were executed at ten addresses across Hillingdon involving 20 officers.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Stephen O'Connor said:
"This intensive operation marks our strong and continued commitment to help protect vulnerable victims who are affected by all forms of violence. Supporting victims of this despicable crime remains a top priority for us.
Our work is by no means over. We have been visiting the homes of those who have suffered at the hands of violent criminals. We will be speaking to those victims, offering them specialist support and advice to help bring another offender to justice. We continue to encourage our communities to provide valuable information to help end the devastating consequences and aftermath of violence and abuse.
We work tirelessly with our partner agencies to share information and act on intelligence regarding violent offenders. This has contributed to a number of recent offenders being brought before the courts and handed significant jail terms.
There is no place in Hillingdon for domestic abuse or the cowardly crimes committed because of someone's race, religion, sexuality or disability. There is only one individual who should live in fear, and that is the offender, who has realised we are at their door."
If you would like to report a Domestic Abuse crime or speak to an officer about it, please call the Hillingdon Community Safety Unit on 020 8246 1570 or 07920266787.
TCPW Comment This latest publicised action against domestic abuse is both welcomed and well timed as we approach the festive season. Unfortunately, Christmas is not a good time for those living with a violent partner, so I do hope this news gives reassurance to those who are suffering in silence at the hands of a sadistic partner that there is immediate help at hand and the violence will be stopped.
