On 3 November I posted a news story about a new website called 'Help for Victims', which has been designed to help victims of and witnesses to crime
This is what I said.....
'The Help for Victims website has been created by the Police National Legal Database with the support of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner West Yorkshire and in collaboration with Yorkshire and Humber Victim Support.
The Police National Legal Database (PNLD) is wholly owned by the Police and Crime Commissioner West Yorkshire and has been providing online information resources since 1994. (For further information go to www.pnld.co.uk and www.askthepolice.uk.)
The Help for Victims database is intended to provide an online resource of questions and answers for victims of and witnesses to crime, derived from the Victims' Code, and where the answer can't be found an ability to ask a relevant question. It also provides information about how victims and witnesses should be treated within the Criminal Justice System and offers advice for those affected by crime.
It is not a crime prevention resource and neither is it yet nationwide, but the generic information is really useful for everyone..............'
Moving on from this I am really happy to report that The Crime Prevention Website is now one of the sites listed on their site as a place for help in answer to the question ‘What support organisations can help me regarding security issues?’ In response I have now linked back from our Partners page and the Library.
TCPW is already linked with South Yorkshire Police and the PCCs for South Yorkshire and Humberside and so this link really means a lot.
Help for Victims website https://www.helpforvictims.co.uk/home.mth Definitely worth a visit!
