The BBC reported today that the missing people charity ‘Missing People’ have joined forces with Royal Mail and will be sending alerts about missing vulnerable people to their 124,000 postal workers.

Photos and descriptions of missing children and vulnerable adults will be sent to the postie’s hand held scanners, normally used to track and sign for deliveries.  The alerts will normally be of geographical significance, but can be national.

This initiative immediately doubles the number of people on the lookout for missing people.

The initiative begins on 1 December
